Thank you for the explanation, maybe your are correct. From my point of view it
should definitely not end up with a segmentation fault.

maybe, therefore I have attached a simple test case demonstrating the issue.
Moreover, this simple test case works fine as expected within the opengl 3.0
context and with other proprietary drivers (ati, nvidia) as well
