There are two problems:
1. text is unreadable in any text input (like login box); random garbage
appears instead of written text. This worked in 7.3 fine.
2. screen height is wrong in-game. when you start a game, the screen is oddly
"stretched" vertically, so for example if I click at "Y=200", the "click" will
happen on "Y=300". so the image and screen positions seem to be really
confused.
This has happened to me with EXA, UXA, dri and dri2. Downgrading mesa was the
solution. Wine version also doesn't cause any difference.
I must add that I have seen the problem both in 7.4 and 7.5 (ubuntu and fedora
unreleased versions respectively)
Let me know how to provide further debug info. Some package info:

I reiterate that downgrading mesa fixes the problem, other packages were not
relevant.
Run log:

Couldn't reference dri2 front buffer handle 0x00000002: No such file or
directory
do_wait: drmWaitVBlank returned -1, IRQs don't seem to be working correctly.
Try adjusting the vblank_mode configuration parameter.
