Hi Preeti,
Currently we do not support any BSP through meta-amd that utilizes the
Radeon stack and hence we haven't upgraded or tested the xf86-video-ati
drivers. The Xserver updates were made to support the amdgpu variants. A
validated patch that upgrades the required drivers would certainly be
welcome here :)

Hi,
I am compiling meta-amd (warrior branch ) with poky (warrior branch) &
other meta-layers (warrior compatible) and getting do_compile issue
for recipe *xf86-video-amd_git.bb* from meta-amd layer.
*Error:*

member named 'drawable'
ScrnInfoPtr pScrn = xf86ScreenToScrn(dirty->src->drawable.pScreen);

../../git/src/radeon_kms.c:570:41: error: 'struct _Drawable' has no
member named 'master_pixmap'
ScreenPtr master_screen =
dirty->src->master_pixmap->drawable.pScreen;
*Please find attached log file for reference.*
*The error is due that* *ATI/AMD Radeon video driver xf86-video-ati
v7.8.0 is not compatible with xserver-xorg 1.20.4* *as xf86-video-ati
v7.8.0 uses function services that has been modified in upgraded
version (1.20.4) of xserver-xorg.*
If we see the file xf86-video-amd_git.bb there is no change in
version of xorg driver ( xf86-video-ati, v7.8.0) from meta-amd, sumo
branch to warrior branch.
meta-amd, sumo branch:
http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-amd/tree/common/recipes-graphics/xorg-driver/xf86-video-amd_git.bb?h=sumo
meta-amd, warrior branch:
http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-amd/tree/meta-amd-bsp/recipes-graphics/xorg-driver/xf86-video-amd_git.bb?h=warrior
But for *xserver-xorg*, the version is upgraded from *1.19.6 (poky,
sumo branch)* to *1.20.4 (poky, warrior branch*
https://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/tree/meta/recipes-graphics/xorg-xserver?h=warrior)
The compile issue of xf86-video-amd_git.bb can be resolved either by
“*downgrading xserver-xorg version to 1.19.6*” OR “*upgrading
xf86-video-ati to latest tag (19.1.0) or other tag that is stable and
compatible with xserver-xorg v1.20.4*”
*I would like to know the reason for not yet upgrading version of
xf86-video-ati driver to be compiled with xserver-xorg v120.4 ?*
**
Thanks and Regards
Preeti Sachan
