We have intending to do this for quite some time but we are lacking the resources to do so. We have the patches-4.1[1] to host patches being backported from next and stable features on the way of upstreaming so help to enhance it is always welcome. 1. https://github.com/Freescale/linux-fslc/tree/patches-4.1 Another effort we have been doing is maintaining current GA kernel with stable updates and fixes. This[2] uses 3.14.28 1.0 GA base and includes all stable fixes plus community and vendor fixes so we alleviate the upgrade hassle that all vendors need to do when a new GA kernel is out. 2. https://github.com/Freescale/linux-fslc/tree/3.14-1.0.x-mx6 However I want to know what level of compromise Timesys will have in maintaining the board and any proposed new components as we have been having a hard time to get the Vybrid boards updated[3][4][5] (both maintained by Timesys) since long time ago even though Toradex[6][7][8] has did all the hard work of updating it for 4.0 kernel. I do hope to get this solved and discussed this with Andy at FTF but no move has been done so far. 3. http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-fsl-arm/tree/conf/machine/twr-vf65gs10.conf 4. https://github.com/Freescale/meta-fsl-arm-extra/blob/master/conf/machine/pcl052.conf 5. https://github.com/Freescale/meta-fsl-arm-extra/blob/master/conf/machine/pcm052.conf 6. https://github.com/Freescale/meta-fsl-arm-extra/blob/master/conf/machine/colibri-vf.conf 7. https://github.com/Freescale/meta-fsl-arm-extra/blob/master/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-toradex_4.0.bb 8. https://github.com/Freescale/meta-fsl-arm-extra/blob/master/recipes-kernel/kernel-module-mcc-toradex/kernel-module-mcc-toradex_1.06%2Btoradex2.bb So all Timesys help and contributions are welcome but we do need to have a high level of commitment from you guys if more high impact changes are going to be proposed.
