This is to let you know that I'm planning to resurrect the import-sig. The (new) mission of this SIG is primarily to shepherd the landing of PEP 382, but there will also likely be some side work in refactoring and simplifying import.c and importlib as well. We intend this to be a fairly short-lived SIG; in all likelihood we'll shut it down after the PEP 382 stuff lands, or no later than the Python 3.3 release.
I'm going to make Eric Smith (BDFOP of PEP 382) and myself the admins, and will update the website. Cheers, -Barry
