As I understand it from a previous post on the list from last year Xilinx are aiming to keep the master branch of meta-xilinx (and meta-xilinx-tools) in line with poky master and create their releases (e.g. rel-v2021.1) by branching from master. Have I understood this correctly?
A bit of background, I have a distro (in production) built using meta-xilinx / meta-xilinx-tools (for MPSoC) version 2019.2, the distro layers being aligned to Yocto "thud", and as such I have no Yocto compatibility problems at the moment. I will shortly be faced with moving the distro to the Yocto "dunfell" release. I can't easily control distro's Yocto version. In my initial testing using the "master" branches of the Xilinx layers it seems that the layer compat's are set to "dunfell" and "gatesgarth" and my build succeeds, can I expect that this will be maintained or if not what will be the strategy regarding layer compat's going forward? Thanks Peter
