I have had this problem.
I develop on, and prefer to use Macs, but also have used Windows on a daily
basis for many years. - I have regularly encounter printing problems on the
PC with all sorts of applications, so until it appeared on the list, I
assumed the first page fetish problem was not down to MC.
Maybe I was wrong.
I was a little worried about how the printer (a newish colour HP inkjet)
would handle Postscript, because it wasn't mentioned at all in the manual.
Printing from MC worked (very) intermittently, usually not at all. I have
never tried to print anything more than a single page at a time. Sometimes
the image would emerge (not looking as good as my ancient StyleWriter,
though). Other times the printer would go "humjahh....hummjAAAH...dagga
dagga....dagga......dagga" (not BAD noises, you understand, just the usual
inkjet language), and then do nothing. Connect an HP LaserJet, and
everything was fine.
Then, for no obvious reason, I couldn't get anything out of the inkjet
printer using MC or *any other * application. I fiddled arround with all the
relevant bits (can't remember what) and then it *seemed* to work. I started
a file off in Word and went for a pee and a cup of coffee. I came back to
*hundreds* of page 1s. I ended up removing all drivers, and then
reinstalling them, closely followed by a reinstall of Windows. This perked
things up a bit until 4 weeks ago when the same damned thing happened again
(still didn't connect it with MC though).
The weird thing is that some stone age DOS programs still print multiple
pages off fine (do they use the same driver?). As far as I can see, nothing
else will print anything other than loads of page 1s.
Ho hum.
If this should have been a bug report, please forgive me.
Best wishes to all
