I recently built a demo which looked fine on several PC's (tested it on in
16 bit color). I later showed it on a PC at a remote location (I dragged the
standalone file over a network). The greys were different, and one mystery
image turned completely black leaving faint outlines of the original image.
Did the mystery image get hammered in the file transfer? Did the remote
computer have a wonky graphics card? The black image only appears on the
remote display - it still looks fine on my display. (both were running 16
bit color).
Most of the images I used were captured from Director in 16 bit color). I
tried import file and also found some color shifts.
Question 1: What is the safest way to capture images into MetaCard to avoid
color conflicts on other platforms?
Question 2: What does MC do to image colors when it imports them.
Color palettes on the PC are always challenging. I just need to know a
foolproof method of getting consistent results..
