Has anyone got any experience on the long term stability of Metacard running
as a Kiosk (or server for that matter)? On which platforms?

I'm working on a networked video installation which has to be up for 6
weeks, and I want the thing to be as stable as possible (so I don't have to
travel 200 miles every time a machine needs re-booting -:)

I will probably be using MPEG2 for the video (though it may be QuickTime),
and was wandering what I'd need to get Metacard to play hardware accelerated
MPEG2 (multiple streams from hard disk) on something like Linux.

I've sorted out a G4 with 3 WiredStream boards on the Mac, but it sounds
like the sort of thing that could be done cheaper and more stable on Linux
