This must be a HyperCard stack, and the problem is HyperCard
compatibility run amok.  Since HyperCard doesn't have different menu
types, MetaCard always returns "popup" when you get the style of a
button that's set to be a menu in an imported HyperCard stack.  You
can work around this by setting the "menuMode" property of the button
to whatever you want ("pulldown" in this case) using the message box.
Or, set the hcAddressing property of the stack to false, which will
disable most of these pesky compatibility features for that stack.
