Thanks for the above suggestions.  I'm curious what the "-1" means for the
kill command?  I can't seem to find a reference for the number.

In any event, my immediate need is some method on Windows to prevent a
browser opened (launched) by MC from closing when MC is quit.  The annoying
thing is, my client has several Windows 98 machines where this behavior
already occurs and I can't figure out why.  If their machines are broken,  I
need to find a way to "break" any machine that my stack runs on. :-)
