With metakit's setup.py, distutils doesn't work for pythons earlier than 2.3.Is there something simple we can do to fix it?
To be honest, I don't understand what's going in in metakit/python's setup.py file (I tend to write only the simplest setup.py files myself).
I could study the metakit setup.py and try to fathom what's going on, but I suspect this is a task better suited to the setup.py author.
