Nuts, I was hoping you would post a magic 100% up-to-date pure python source. I don't need metakit's speed (I have millions of small files of which only a few are updated a second) but the coredumps give me the willies. (the coredumps only happen in long running python processes and only during garbage collection, the data all seems to survive).
