could someone comment on these bugs? the Firefox one seems way off to me :)
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331979 ------- Comment #15 From Christian :Biesinger 2009-03-18 06:23:26 PDT (-) [reply] ------- I do not think that implementing this in Firefox is all that useful currently. With bug 40106 (multisource downloads) I can see the use, but otherwise it seems like the only thing it would give us is the ability to autoselect a mirror for a download, and the webpage could do that just as well, perhaps better since it can use IP geolocation data. http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1751 Comment 3 by [email protected], Jan 30, 2009 This feature request is fairly involved. First, this requires rewriting the current download manager. By doing a quick search for "metalink" at http://aria2.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/aria2/trunk/src/ that gives 58 different files. (Ok there's probably too many source files in this implementation). That in addition to the multipart download logic that needs to be added. I wouldn't object to a contribution so I'll leave this issue available. -- (( Anthony Bryan ...
