I just tried this browser (version 3.0.1), and I see the following: 1) if I click on a metalink, it offers to just save it to disk. Hm. 2) if I click on an ISO image (with metalink transparently available), it just downloads the ISO image, but opens ~20 connections to a single mirrors. Bad. 3) if I click on a .torrent file, it starts indeed downloading via BitTorrent. Hm. The browser presumably uses a Firefox extension called firedownload, which is also available for Firefox, So, this sounds to me like a binary addition to Firefox that adds BitTorrent capability, but nothing more. I didn't find a reference to metalinks in the extension either. Source code doesn't seem to be available. The suposed link to a zip file containing the sources is dead, and the websvn linked on the website shows a single import of a mozilla snapshot near the end of 2007, without further commits. Does anyone know more? (I was trying to find out whether the Firefox extensions "firedownload" or "firetorrent" would worthwhile to look at.)
