Hi Chris
On the open file thing, your machine may not be locked up. For some reason,
the open file requster opens on workbench instead of Metalwebs screen.
Metalweb will appear to have locked up because it won't do anything until
the requester is dealt with. Just swap to workbench (easy for me as I have
screen swap set on my middle mouse button). If the requester is there
select your file, click ok and swap back to the Metalweb screen. If the
requester isn't there let me know and I'll see if I can recreate the
problem here.
On the JPEG front, using datatypes is rather slower than dedicated decoders
and you can't expect magic speeds out of an 030 (I know - I have one too)
but I would expect better than a crawl. How big are your image files? Maybe
if they are fairly large, you could try putting them in last.
Regards
Mike
