Gun Bluing won't work. One dealer, who shall remain nameless, tried it and it did not work.
If you have a rusty sikhote-alin your best course of action is to gently clean it with a dremel tool and then rub it down with a silicone gun cloth. If the rust was heavy enough to eat into the metal, you will still have some pitting but at least it will be clean. The trick is to buy the best quality Sikhote-alin to start with. You will pay more but it will be worth it in the long run. As cheap as Sikhote-alin is on ebay, I continue to sell specimens on my webpage at $1 to $1.50 per gram. Quality specimens always sell, does not matter what kind of collectable you are dealing with. Best Wishes.........
