Meteorite Collectors do it with their rocks dude.

A place to fall. Besides striking down the occasional mother in law at a
crucial moment (this is more of a job for Thor), I would have loved
something to fall in the days when meteorites were not thought to come from
the sky, and definitely not from space. Shock horror! Anything to stir up
some ancient priest, as he's about to sacrifice the astronomer.
