Aloha all,

On March 6, I alerted the meteorite community about a theft that occurred of my
meteorites from my office at the UH Institute for Astronomy in Hilo Hawaii
(http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg104614.html).

Through cloaked email accounts, I was contacted by a person claiming to have
purchased my meteorites from an intermediary and was looking to return them to
their owner, of course for a "reward". Something didn't feel right and I
ultimately refused to deal with him.

Local law enforcement and the FBI have been contacted about this case.

The suspect will most likely be looking to sell these meteorites. He mentioned
dumping them off to his brother in Mexico, but he could be trying to sell them
anywhere. Please keep an eye out for these specimens.
