"Where Did All Earth's Water Come From?"
Dr. Ilaria Pascucci
Assistant Professor in the Department of Planetary Sciences
With oceans covering about 70% of its surface, Earth is a watery place.
Liquid water has played an important role in the origin and development
of terrestrial life, yet its origin and abundance remains an exciting
and hotly debated question. I will review current ideas of how Earth got
its water and discuss new insights coming from the study of
protoplanetary disks and exoplanets.
This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30p.m.
Parking in university surface parking lots is free after 5 p.m. Please
be careful not to park in service or reserved spaces. Metered street
parking is also available at no cost after 5 p.m. Parking in the Cherry
Avenue Garage is available after 5 p.m. at a cost of $1.00 per hour.
