Adam, et al.:

Here's another piece to the puzzle. I just received one of the now well-known micros from Steve Arnold, and wasted no time putting it under my stereo microscope.  It is mostly fusion crust, and appears to be quite metaliferous.
More to the point, it has a very small -- but striking -- cluster of black/dark-brown glassy spherules which appear identical in color and texture to the material shown in the images accompanying your email.

If I have the story straight, Steve collected these fragments from the Winslow Street impact site, so neither shingles nor tar paper were involved. Whatever this stuff is, it seems associated with the fusion crust.  Others may want to more closely examine appropriate pieces for similar occurrences.

Dear List Members,
While examining the contents of the game box under a microscope we were shocked to see the following objects:

Dumbbell shaped glassy forms
Teardrop shaped glassy forms
Rod shaped glassy forms
Patty shaped glassy forms with sunken centers
Ball shaped glassy forms
