It's a pity in some ways it's not like the old days when explorers 'claimed the land for their country', then we really would see a half decent space race, which would really move things along...

Hello List, On a more serious note; Does any government claim to own the
Moon or Mars or any of the other planets? Knowing our government, I would
think they would claim the moon as US property. If a small country had plans
to mine the Moon, I would think the US would try to stop them. I remember
something about some American Indians saying it was theirs.
