You can get Ferric Chloride from places like Radio Shack or electronics suppliers (as it's used for etching Electronic Circuit Boards)

Yo Harlan, I bought some a while back- 70% HNO3 . So nasty/pure that it'll melt the pennies in your pocket- no kidding. John and his wife Nancy Run the Operation. You have to dillute it to 10% with alcohol. Ask John to be sure. Unless you have experience with Nitric , better be careful. John might be able to pre-mix it or dillute it to 10% for you- be much cheaper that
