'Fireball' spotted The New Zealand Herald October 28, 2003 Tauranga police called out an aircraft about 1am yesterday after a Papamoa resident reported seeing a large "fireball" out to sea. The single-seater Cessna searched an area around Mayor Island for an hour and a half but found nothing.
