Under "Golden Belt News" section Meteorite-Like Object Sighted in Missouri WILLOW SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) - An object believed to have been a meteorite was sighted in this area early today. Residents of southwest Missouri, southeast Kansas, northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma reported seeing the object about 1 a.m. It was visible only a few seconds before disintegrating. Mrs. Ken Stutsman of Willow Springs said she noticed it through a window of her home but by the time she got outside the tail had come off and the object disintegrated "like a fireworks display."
