Dronino has been classified as an ungrouped ataxite by Vernadsky and UCLA.  It was in the last vote by the NomCom.  I'll find out tomorrow if it was actually approved (I didn't know of any serious problems), but you can be confident in its classification as a real iron meteorite.

G'day,

I've got a 1kg & 3kg individual. They have shown a little spot of rust here and there but a brief Sodium Hydroxide bath worked a treat. This one is no-where near as bad Nantan & Campo. Only thing is though, it still hasn't been voted on by the Nom Com to my knowledge. Anyone heard if it's supposed classification has been confirmed?

Hey, Is Dronino from the same parent body of Nantan? Can you imagine, a
great asteroid made of rust!
Thanks, Tom
