Hello all, 

I see there is an Ebay auction today for a metal-rich diogenite for about $30/g. I 
thought with the last go around with NWA 1827, 1879 and 1882 that a metal rich 
diogenite did not exist and that these were all classified as MES-C's that sell 
for about $10 to $25/g, depending on the number and source. Now it looks like 
one University has gone ahead and called a newer find a metal rich diogenite. I 
did note that this new "diogenite" find, NWA-3106, has about 11% metal, and that 
the MES-C's have been found to have about 10% metal in them. From my simple 
minded perspective, we are still looking at the same orthopyroxene/metal rich 
material. 

Are there any other comments about this new find and its classification versus 
the others? 

BTW...I love the pieces I have of the MES-C's. To me it is one of the coolest 
meteorites out there.
