There are several pieces of evidence that show this may of happened.

Since you have a knack for tracking down old meteorite articles, you may
want to see if you can find the Nakhla articles published in 1911 in the
"Al Ahali" and the "Egyptian Gazette". If you find the Al Ahali article, I
can help you get it translated.
