Hi,

a type of naturally occurring glass having the composition of a plagioclase series feldspar,
created by the vitrification of plagioclase by shock melting in meteorites and meteorite impacts,
so as far as I know, Maskelynite is not formed or found on Earth w.o. impacts.

G'day List,

Can anyone tell me exactly how Maskelynite is formed and if it has been
found on Earth?

Thanks in advance,
