Hi,
a type of naturally occurring glass having the composition of a plagioclase series feldspar,
created by the vitrification of plagioclase by shock melting in meteorites and meteorite impacts,
so as far as I know, Maskelynite is not formed or found on Earth w.o. impacts.
An article with pics on Max Planc Society;

G'day List,
Can anyone tell me exactly how Maskelynite is formed and if it has been found on Earth?
Thanks in advance,
