Yep.  Enter the term "phishing" in google, and you'll get over 7 million hits.  
Enter "phishing" in
the google news section and you'll get over 2 thousand.  It is a from a class 
of hacking known as
"social engineering"-- why use software to get people's private info when you 
can trick them into
telling you themselves?
