The two spheres would hit the ground at the same time
only if air resistance or another resistance (large
bird maybe)doesn't interfere with the spheres. The
law stands true if the two spheres are released at
exactly the same time and in a space devoid of air (a
vacuum). If this were the case they would reach
terra firma at the same instant. However, this is not
the case--so--"you never know" is the only appropriate
answer for the question as postulated.
