I'm not surprised if the rock isn't a meteorite, but if that assessment is coming from someone who thinks so because it didn't make "a crater the size of her store" (or that it would be likely for any meteorite to do that), well... you have to wonder.

ZANESVILLE - The strange rock found Aug. 14 at the edge of the flower
bed of Tina Cochran of Garden Street is not a meteorite, she reported.

Cochran said the rock was finally examined by Eric Law from the
Muskingum College Science Department, who told her it had been subjected
to high heat, but was not a meteorite. If it was a meteorite, it would
have created a crater the size of her store.
