In retrospect, I believe I saw the trail it left behind, although I didn't see 
the actual meteor.  It did look remarkably like a jet contrail.  I saw it on my 
way to work Wednesday morning (I do look up at the skies as I walk to work) and 
noted it because we see very few jet contrails in Hawaii, since most jets use 
Hawaii as a stopover if they are crossing the Pacific and Hawaii is in the 
flight path.  If it was still glowing when it passed over Haleakala, it went
