Jason and List,
Actually Tafassasset matches closely to Renazzo(CR2) w.r.t. oxygen isotopes.
See the paper "TAFASSASSET: AN EQUILIBRIATED CR CHONDRITE"
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2002/pdf/1611.pdf
That said, subsequent papers do argue that Tafassasset is more like a
Brachinite.
http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2003/pdf/1370.pdf
This paper does go on to say that perhaps Tafassasset is a brachinite whose
parent body was different from most other brachinites and perhaps its parent
body was composed of CR chondrite-like material.

Hello Mike,
Well, it's not an equilibrated CR - the oxygen isotope plots are in
the H-chondrite range...as far as I know, dealers were just putting
that out there to move it, because that's been known for a good while.
Chemically it's...kind of....similar to a CR (if you want it to be,
you could say it was, I suppose), but as far as I can tell, it's
really just 'ungrouped' in nearly every sense of the word.
Regards,
Jason

Hello List!
Was wondering if there was any new information available, including new
research results, on Tafassasset.
I was fortunate in aquiering a nice slice and am now curious on where
this
meteortie stands. The met. base still gives this a dual listing of both
a
CR Chondrite and a Primative Achondrite (PAC). Are there any new
arguments
which point to which classification is correct?
Cheers and Thanks,
