Yes, I will never forget negotiating for hours in the
bitter cold, and when we left, we saw the blood-red
moon at full eclipse. what are the odds of that,
having a 1 kilo moon rock in your pocket and seeing
full Lunar eclipse at the same time?

Hello all,

70% clouds here in Bakersfield, but just saw the
eclipse through a window in the clouds.
Outstanding!

And now to keep this post related to meteorites, how
about a bit of meteorite trivia?

If memory serves me right, I believe that the
Schenectady, New York, H5 meteorite fell on the same
night as an eclipse on April 12, 1968.

And, of course the famous lunar meteorite, NWA 482,
was purchased in Morocco on the night of a lunar
eclipse in January of 2001.

Any others?

Cheers,

Frank
