Like that big 444.5 gram slice of pallasite Glorieta Meteorite that I found and was at auction at Tucson in 2001... A slice out of the center of largest Glorieta pallasite ever found, 20.5 Kg.
One walked off with it, tucked in a folder. The slice was not mine as I parted with the huge pallasite before the buyer and close friend cut it... Bothers me to this day that one would have the gall to steal that slice knowing the pain of its loss would bring to me and my friend... If that person is reading this... And did the deed, and grace fills your heart, you can always send it back to me, no questions asked, and my forgiveness given... And I think that my friend will agree and also forgive... My wife found a slice in a small box in the garbage yesterday, because she wanted the box for Christmas gifts. I had thrown it away. That was a wake up event.... I live out beyond the crackheads and such, so I don't have to worry about theft much. My dogs wouldn't allow it anyway. I think I will sit down someday and photograph everything so I know what I have, first of all, and secondly for insurance purposes in case of fire ..etc. I still can't get over someone stealing so personal a possession like that. I never will understand it....and I am 'afraid' I couldn't control myself in such a case.....
