Dear METRo community,

We are pleased to announce that METRo version 3.2.0 is now available for
download:
http://download.gna.org/metro/metro-3.2.0.tar.bz2

The version succeeding 3.1.0 is labeled 3.2.0, instead of 3.1.1 as
planned, because it includes major changes that deserve a bigger
increment in the version labeling.

Significant changes are:
* METRo is now able to run on 64-bits architecture;
* METRo now use numpy instead of numarray package (you will have to
install numpy in order to run version 3.2.0);
* It is now possible to have all the subsurfaces level in the output
roadcast file;
* METRo can use directly solar and/or infrared fluxes as input instead
of cloud cover.

You can read the detailed changelog of this version on the wiki:
http://documentation.wikia.com/wiki/Changelog_%28METRo%29#Changes

The documentation on the wiki as been updated as well and everything
should correspond to this release. If not, you just have to notify us
or, if you are confident enough, you can update it yourself.

Note that ViX (http://documentation.wikia.com/wiki/ViX) version 0.2 is
simultaneously released with METRo 3.2.0 and should work with this
version of METRo.

We invite all the METRo community to download and to test this version
intensely. There is a lot of new changes in it and we expect to have
some glitches here and there. We hope that you will try it this spring
and this summer in order to have another release, at least, ready for
the next winter season.

We will not include major changes in the next release, looking for
stability and reliability instead of new features.

For any questions, bug report, compliments, wishes or anything regarding
METRo, you just have to send an email to the metro-developers mailing
list. We are never very far from our inbox :)

Best regards,

The METRo developers team.
