Hello folks,

Here is a link to the presentation I made last week
at the Miracle 2011 workshop. It is intended to
- describe particular problems of importance for 4G
- describe specific approaches for solutions
One thesis of the workshop was that LTE is subject
to continued and perhaps substantial new design
efforts, thus offering future application for any
IETF actions that could be undertaken within [mext].

The part about assistance for location information
for target access networks would be important for
smooth handovers, but is pretty much separate from
the nuts and bolts suggestions of the previous slides.

Many of these problems could have a significant impact
on the ability of 3GPP to adopt any eventual DMM
solution (other than _completely_ unanchored, that is).

If I could distill the message down to one sentence:
either we revise Mobile IPv6, or IETF mobility
management risks becoming mostly irrelevant.

Comments will be appreciated.

Regards,
Charlie P.
