Use EXTREAME caution when coding live tool operations on the face of the sub spindle. There is a nasty bug that will give you inconsistent code for those operations depending on what plane the preceding operation was on. You may get correct results in some cases but could have the X, Y & Z values switched around in others. When I was working as an A.E. for a VAR, I had documented the bug in Aturn v3 (around 1991-92). It was written up as a known bug by Point Control but never fixed. Now the official response on the issue is that this was never a bug but that SmartCAM does not support live tool operations on the face of the sub spindle.
