We use Merry Mech software, manually building 5-30 full and partial sheet nests per day for 2 lasers. I highly recommend it if you are doing flat layout on many parts without cad input. We've been using it 11 years. Their autonesting package is not so good. see http://www.merrymech.com/
A nesting package that was originally an extension to Smartcam is Cimblock from Building Blocks. see http://www.buildingblocksinc.com/AdvanNest.html I did a study three years ago, and looked at many other packages, including SigmaNest, but the cost of changing over the 27,000 parts we've programmed over 11 years is high. I narrowed our choices at that time down to SigmaNest or Cimblock.
