HI all,
I am not a hacker, so I will pose this question to those of you who
are more knowledgeable: Can an automated work around be done to bring in
Autocad2000 drawings into Smartcam, maybe through a combination macro/shell
command? I am proposing a work around which will open the drawing in an
application which can read the drawing (Autocad itself, or Rhino), have it
do a "save as" (R12 version), and then go to CAM Connection to bring in the
drawing. Or maybe at least have Smartcam's shell command access an Autocad
Lisp routine which will do the reading and saveas.
Any comments and/or input would be appreciated.
Btw, did any of you check out the web site for the Open DWG Alliance
(www.opendwg.org)?
