Here is the perfect tool to perfect your swearing and over come the wrenching feeling that you get when you see BSD.
http://www.sysinternals.com/bluescrn.htm "One of the most feared colors in the NT world is blue. The infamous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will pop up on an NT system whenever something has gone terribly wrong. Bluescreen is a screen saver that not only authentically mimics a BSOD, but will simulate startup screens seen during a system boot. On NT 4.0 installations it simulates chkdsk of disk drives with errors! On Win2K it presents the Win2K startup splash screen, complete with rotating progress band and progress control updates! Bluescreen cycles between different Blue Screens and simulated boots every 15 seconds or so. Virtually all the information shown on Bluescreen's BSOD and system start screen is obtained from your system configuration - its accuracy will fool even advanced NT developers. For example, the NT build number, processor revision, loaded drivers and addresses, disk drive characteristics, and memory size are all taken from the system Bluescreen is running on. Use Bluescreen to amaze your friends and scare your enemies! Bluescreen runs on Windows NT 4.0 and Win2K." http://www.sysinternals.com/bluescrn.htm This screen saver has made me feel sick more than once. But it was only the screen saver. The BSD is a Windows NT 3-4 thing. Windows 95/98 also have a blue screen but it is not always fatal. The 95/98 blue screen will tell you the system is busy and prompt you to want to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart the system. The BSD on NT has no such options, put a fork in it, it's done. I don't have any experience with Windows 2000. Can anyone in the group fill us in on blue screens in Windows 2000? I heard Microsoft now allows you to change it's color. How's that for a major enhancement? How about if it can play a WAV file when it crashes? That would be too cool, the PC can cuss itself out. @#&$%*^$! ============================================= Fred Lauzus, CAM Programming Coordinator High Steel Structures, Incorporated mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.highsteel.com ============================================= -----Original Message----- From: Michael Senack [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, May 25, 2000 10:36 AM To: 'Lauzus, Frederick'; Michael Senack Cc: SmartCam Users Group (E-mail) Subject: RE: [mfg-smartcam] BSD? The "blue screen of death", (BSD), is NT's way of teaching you to back up your system more often. There is no why or when, then we could predict it. There's just the sound of cursing echoing through cubicles. Maybe this is not the best explanation (that's for sure), but it's just as good as any you'd get from Microsoft. ============================================= Fred Lauzus, CAM Programming Coordinator High Steel Structures, Incorporated mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.highsteel.com ============================================= -----Original Message----- From: Michael Senack [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, May 25, 2000 10:05 AM To: 'Lauzus, Frederick'; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: SmartCam Users Group (E-mail) Subject: RE: [mfg-smartcam] Will it work? Not bad for a Commodore. It took Microsoft many years of additional development to even equal that result with Windows NT and its' infamous "blue screen of death". ============================================= Fred Lauzus, CAM Programming Coordinator High Steel Structures, Incorporated mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.highsteel.com ============================================= -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, May 25, 2000 8:48 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: Jon Wilshusen; SmartCam Users Group (E-mail) Subject: Re: [mfg-smartcam] Will it work?
