In response to question # 2 on your list, I can suggest an image capture product called 'SnagIt' from Techsmith Corporation.  I use it to do full and partial screen/window/image captures for documentation and manufacturing technical support information for my internal web page.  It has the capability to output the image capture to a printer, the clipboard, a file or a catalog.  That image can then be either imported or pasted into your MS-Word documents.  The product supports Windows Bitmap (BMP), PC Paintbrush (PCX), Tagged Image File (TIF), JPEG Image (JPG), CompuServe GIF (GIF) and Portable Network Graphics (PNG) file formats with a variety of options for each format.

You can download a free trial version from their web site at http://www.techsmith.com/ to see how it works.  We have a site license as it is used by a number of people here, but I just downloaded the trial version and it took about 6-1/2 minutes with the 56K modem on my NT Laptop.  I hope that helps with your image capture stuff.

Since I'm an old Compact II programmer and now support I-DEAS manufacturing products, you'll have to rely on the excellent technical know-how of the SmartCAM guys on the list for your other questions.  And with respect to milling Titanium, I can't help you much there either since I haven't cut any of that stuff for almost a decade and like John my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Regards, David
