Your first question:
For me I've found the easiest, most reliable way to convert an r14 or an r2k
is to save it as an r13 dxf and then use the appropriate camcon setup file.
I've had minimal difficulty with this method.  After the conversion, you can
simply delete the dxf.  You will still have your r14 or r2k dwg.

Because Acad will continue to release new versions, eventually the option to
save as an r12 or r13 will no longer be an option.  When that time comes,
Camcon may become completely useless to anyone that needs to import Acad
dwgs.
