I don't recognize the error offhand, but sometimes merging a file works like a filter for unsupported or corrupt geometry conditions.
Try this: Start a new file using "File - New...". Load just the JOF file using "File - Load Job File...". Merge in the PM4 file using "File - Merge...". It may work, it may not.
