I know that there is an option in Pro-E for stripping
surface elements or something like that, might take a few
experiments..
What I did want to say is yes it is very do-able, I have worked at 2
shops where I recieved and used a LOT of Pro-E iges files in Advanced
Production Milling, and the geommetry was just fine....
The only problem I ran into was with IGES Cam Connection. It would
give me errors on some Pro-E IGES files, and I found out what the problem
was. Some versions of Pro-E's IGES translator strip the linefeeds
out of the file, confusing Cam Connection. Simple fix.... read the
IGES file into MSWord or equivelent, and simply re-save.
I have all this documented, and will send you samples (if needed) of what
the culprit file looks like, and what it needs to look like.
