Hey fellas and gals,

We want our people to submit tokens, a signature ... whatever, to be
accountable for the inspection tools they use on a particular job.
We're about to start up our token system, but we envision a bottle neck at
inspection at the end / beginning of each shift. Some tools have to go
right back out to the same job (ie calibrated bore gages), but operators
shouldn't be forced to exchange tokens amongst themselves, "Oh, i lost your
token. Oh your tokens from last night are in my other pants".

Can anybody relate to this issue? Should we pursue software to checkout our
tools and track them by barcode along with the employees bar code?

Obviously, we want the quickest, cheapest implementation plan and losing 15
minutes at the beginning and end of every shift is not the most popular
option round these parts.

let me know your thoughts
thanks
ernie
