Bye William
Ray
Another one bites the
dust.
Software vendors give the
same sad story to all SmartCAM users.
I'm sorry that SC is not
supported anymore, that's why you need to drop
it
and shell out $25,000 to $40,000 dollars on this new
supported software
with all the
bells and double the
whistles.
The problem is that companys
believe them and drop SC for the new stuff.
If the company was going
to purchase a 23 axis machine that could profile
a mustard bottle by reading
your brain waves with 8 tools cutting at once I
could see a use for
such well rounded software.
I've been programming with
SmartCAM for over 8 years for all types of equipment
like burners, punch, punch /
plasma, turn, and mill and have not been stumped yet
on how to program the
parts.
I'm envious of the companys
that have moved on, maybe someday I too will progress
on to more
complicated parts and much more expensive
software.
Now if I could
just talk my company into shelling out $30,000 for
2 seats of PartMaker
for our Swiss lathes, I would
be happy.
Have a great day
all, Good luck
William
