Robert,

The weight of water is 8.33 lb/gal at 70 deg F. This was calculated from
data in the Machinery's Handbook, where water is 63.31 lb/cu.ft. and 1 gal
is 0.1337 cu.ft. (63.31 lb/cu.ft.) X (0.1337 cu.ft./gal) = (8.33 lb/gal.)

Regards,
Mike McCool

Good Morning All,

I apologize in advance for this, but I need to know the official weight of
a U.S. gallon of water. I know liquids are usually measured in volume, but
I need to put a water tank on an axle, and need to know if the axle can
carry the weight. I searched but couldn't find the information I need. I
figured with the knowledge and talent of this group, someone could help me.
