I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong here, but, It seems as though the code generator is not at fault. The difference seems to be the way the control handles compensation. In my experience there are 2 different types of compensation that a machine can follow (and you have outlined both) one is "Fanuc" style and another which a cannot recall the name. Our Haas machine allows us to change a setting to control which it is using, but if your machine is fixed on behaving this way you may have to alter your "lead in" to a smoother ramp (like 5 or 10 degrees instead of 90) or as Bill suggested you could include a "lead in" line followed by an arc to get you into the work. (remember, "lead in" needs to be a line at least as long as half the diameter of the tool, and in some cases maybe as long as full diameter of tool)
